What are your weaknesses? I’m not physically strong and I
don’t push myself. As far as personality, I’m shy to the point of
coming off very cold. Most people have a hard time warming to me.
Also, I’m a horrible procrastinator and tend towards being lazy but I
never half-ass anything.
2. What are your strengths? I’m at times funny, or at least I do
have a sense of humor, and I retain useless information like nobody’s
business. I can be articulate at times as well.
3. What is the last thing you watched on TV? 30 Rock
4. What are your dreams like? Two nights ago I dreamt that I was
gathering unusual items for some kind of Biblical Easter display. I
got the last item just before my alarm rang. Last night, I dreamt
that I was at war and on cannon crew. It was terrifying and Gary
Oldham was my leader who ended up dying in the end. I saw an arc of
blood spray from his intestines, gross! Then I was walking through a
house which had brick arch foundations that were failing. I met a man
I’d never seen before…and gave him “the business.” My dreams are very
vivid. I dream very often about tornados, but in a “man, there is one
right in front of me and I don’t have a camera to document this” kind
of way.
5. Are you organized or cluttered? To the outside world, I’m very
much a cluttered person, but I have an intricate organization system
in my brain. If I do suffer from clutter, I’m at least clean about
it. And I just cleaned my apartment so every so often I am able to
emerge from the junk.
6. What is the last film you saw? Terry Gilliam’s Brazil –
amazing!
7. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
I have extreme wanderlust and I want to live as many places as I can,
if only for just a few months.
8. If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you
do? Pay off my student loans, buy a house for my parents, and buy some
pre-War condo in NYC just to do it; continue to work but take several
month-long vacations.
9. Tell me something about you that most people don't know. I
listen to music constantly to block out my inner voice which self-
narrates. The inside my head sounds like a poorly-written Michael
Chabon knock-off.
10. If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of
guilt
or politics, what would you do? I guess just up everybody’s tolerance
level. That would probably solve quite a few problems.
11. Do you like to dance? I’m terrible at it (think Elaine from
Seinfeld) but I do it anyway with or without a few drinks in me.
12. Would you ever consider living abroad? If only I were…
13. Type of music you like most? I listen to a genre that I have
only now come to learn as “Adult Alternative Album” and the better
side of classic rock that is an obvious inspiration. Lots of Kinks and
T. Rex, I just ordered Dan Auerbach’s solo debut on vinyl.
14. Type of music you dislike most? It’s a tie between country and
techno…
15. Have you ever ridden on a motorbike? Nope, where I come from,
everyone atvs – lots of snow.
16. Would you go bungee jumping or sky diving? Most definitely,
I’ve been getting a rising urge to hot air balloon as well.
17. Do you have a garden? I have a black thumb. I do have some
plants that are thriving though.
18. If you could eat lunch with one famous person, who would it
be? Assuming I could be in the presence of someone great and still
have enough of my wits to be able to swallow – a nice soup with Steve
Martin is sounding pretty perfect right about now. But only if we
could both forget about Pink Panthers and Cheaper By the Dozens. Maybe
he could pull out the old banjo (or ukulele) and we would end the
lunch singing “Tonight You Belong To Me.” Sigh. Happy thought.
19. Which store would you choose to max out your credit card in? I
honestly couldn’t say.
20. What time is bed time? 11:30. I’m tending toward 6 hours of
sleep a night right now. Sometimes 1:30 when I’m in a period of less
sleep.
21. Seen anything weird lately? A giant cigarette with his
keister sticking out of his pants walking around Forsyth.
22. Do you think that tattoos are attractive? How many do you
have? Not particularly, especially when they are cliché like “tribal”
or a Chinese symbol when one is not Asian nor has any understanding of
the Chinese language or culture.
23. Is the glass half empty or half full? On average, I keep
liquids at a halfway point anyway so half full is full. Whatever that
means metaphorically in my life.
24. When's the last time you ate a homegrown tomato? A few
weekends ago from my friend’s grandfather’s garden.
25. Have you ever won a trophy? Only academic and art awards.
26. Are you a good cook? I’ve got staples I do well, I’m just
getting interested in cooking.
27. Do you know how to pump your own gas? I don’t even know how to
drive.
28. If you could talk with, fight, or fuck any one person (from
history or currently alive), who would it be? Albrecht Dürer for all
three. He was brilliant so that’s reason enough to converse, but he
had a big ego so I’d probably want to punch him at some point, and he
is, as my friend refers to him, “my art history boyfriend.”.
29. What's under your bed? Suitcase, notebooks, and letters,
30. Do you believe in love at first sight? Nope, certainly lust, I
think love needs a little more time to brew.
31. Think fast, what do you like right now? The pineapple,
strawberry, banana smoothie I’m consuming right this moment.
32. What was the name of your first pet? Phantom.
33. Where is your favorite place in the world? I’m content in most
places. I don’t have a favorite, but I love being at Old Fort Jackson
during high tide, Bonaventure Cemetery, downtown Buffalo-specifically
Allentown.
34. Is there anything going on this weekend? I’m going to Keller’s
Flea Market tomorrow to seek out a booth of old photographs and all
the other joys to behold there. I’ve been told that I’ll get a corn
dog and funnel cake if I’m a good girl. I hadn’t had a corn dog in
over 18 years until New Years this year.
35. How are you feeling right now? I’m a little sneezy and sore
from work, but otherwise all good. Don’t want to go to work but it’s
nearly the weekend.
36. What do you think about the most? I’m just getting over a long-
stint of getting over my ex-boyfriend. Now my mind usually replays
episodes of the Simpsons and a long string of random thought. I’ve
decided to start writing down my favorite two-or-three thoughts in a
day so that I have something to keep me happy at my worst. So far
today: International Klein Blue.
37. What time do you get up in the morning? 5:30-ish.
38. What do you do most when you are bored? Historic Preservation.
40. Do you love your job? Absolutely, aside from the bs that Is in
any job. Plus, I’m getting sick of the daily exposure to toxins.
41. What did you want to be when you grew up? Do you still want
to? Preservationist or a meteorologist. Yes to both.
42. What are your best characteristics? I care.
43. If you could go anywhere on vacation where would you go?
Anywhere that isn’t mid-western and cold.
44. Where did you grow up? Small town in Western New York,
southeast of Buffalo. The specific region is known as the “Enchanted
Mountains,” which always came off a little lame to me. Though the
area is thought to be enchanted (there’s some crazy occurrence known
as witch lights and a Victorian-era spiritualist community), the
mountains are more like overgrown hills – we are the northern
foothills of the Appalachians I believe.
45. How far away from your birthplace do you live now? Several
countries and the Atlantic Ocean away.
46. Are you a morning person or a night owl? Both actually. I was
always the last one asleep and first one up at sleepovers. I watched
a lot of Nick at Nite. As I write this, I went to bed at 2am and got
up at 5:30am. Wooh to purple bags under my eyes!
47. What is your best childhood memory? Too many to pick from -
but they’re almost all outdoors.
48. What are some of the different jobs that you have had in your
life? Museum guard, Hostess at a guest house for lecturers and
musicians, Docent, Preservation Mason, Preservation Technician,
Documentation Specialist, Assistant.
49. Any new and exciting things that you would like to share? I
just used my entire Georgia refund to purchase supplies for oil
painting.
50. What Inspires You? I draw inspiration anywhere I can; what
actually gets me doing is seeing other people’s get-up-and-go.
51. One of your scars, describe how you got it. I have a crescent
in the upper inside of my left arm from a friend cutting the sleeves
off of my tee-shirt. Pepperoni.
53. What do you miss? Buffalo’s architecture.
54. Any bad habits? Celebrity.
56. What are your nicknames? Meg Meg, Meggerbish, Meggers, Bitch,
Trish, Minnie Minnez, Megalegs, Megatron, Marge, Megnanimous, Marge
57. I have
the habit of sighing in my sleep, or so I’m told.
59. What book are you reading? How is it? The Fountainhead by Ayn
Rand. Dense but very readable.
60. What do you get complimented about most? My butt. I’ve been
told that it’s celebrated Tuesday thru Friday by a co-worker. It must
be a little depressed from the weekend on Mondays.
61. Have you ever been out of the country? I was born in Germany,
traveled to Italy, and lived shockingly close to Canada.
62. What's your drink of choice? Bloody Mary – a meal in itself.
63. How many kids do you want? 2.5, I hope I get a top half
though.
64. How do you release anger? Do you wish this had asked a certain question that it missed?
If you could go back in time and witness one event, what would it be?
Probably the first American lunar landing, but I’d be the one who got
ot plant the flag. Active participation, yeah!

questions-yamino

1. Reno 911
4. What are your dreams like? They always take place in a public/
community setting where I feel like I belong to a tight-knit group of
people.
5. Are you organized or cluttered? Organized clutter.
6. What is the last film you saw? Monsters Vs. Aliens
7. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live? If
I had the choice, I’d want to have houses in Italy, Hawaii,
California, and Vienna, Austria. But if I had to pick just one place,
I’d have to say a European city… probably Vienna, Austria.
8. If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you do?
I’d put it in the bank and think very carefully about what I should do
with it. I’d give some to my friends who need it, and donate some to
honest charities. I’d buy myself a sweet house. Then I’d keep the
rest just as a safety net in case this whole “making comics for a
living” thing doesn’t pan out.
9. Tell me something about you that most people don't know. My big
toes are asymmetrical. I had a surgery on one of them and now they
don’t match.
10. If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt
or politics, what would you do? I’d grant everyone in the world with
boundless empathy.
11. I already do, technically.
13. Type of music you like most? Classical, Techno, Musicals, some
pop, exotic foreign music (particularly Indian, Turkish, Middle
Eastern), some indie UK bands, silly comedy music, and any music that
isn’t really annoying
14. Type of music you dislike most? Death metal, screamy music,
really repetitive music, cliché Jpop, most rap
15. Have you ever ridden on a motorbike? Only as a passenger.
16. Would you go bungee jumping or sky diving? Certainly!
17. Do you have a garden? I like to grow plants in pots in my window,
but I don’t have a garden patch, sadly.
18. If you could eat lunch with one famous person, who would it be?
Natalie Portman! I adore her.
19. Which store would you choose to max out your credit card in?
Barnes & Noble.
20. What time is bed time? About 3am.
21. Seen anything weird lately? No, I find most of them
fairly repulsive.
23. Is the glass half empty or half full? It is filled to the brim
with both water and air, which are both equally necessary for us to
live. Although air is more immediately necessary, it is also the most
readily discounted.
24. When's the last time you ate a homegrown tomato? I honestly can’t
remember, but I’m pretty sure it was back in California or Italy.
25. Have you ever won a trophy? I’m pretty sure I’ve won at least
one, but I had to share it with my swim team. I also have won several
swimming medals.
26. Are you a good cook? I could be if I cared enough. I prefer to
be an assistant.
27. Do you know how to pump your own gas? I’ve never owned a car, so
no.
28. If you could talk with, fight, or fuck any one person (from
history or currently alive), who would it be? Why? A lot of folded up boxes and suitcases,
along with a lot of other dusty crap I’m not using.
30. Do you believe in love at first sight? I had
two turtles once before when I was 4, but they didn’t have names… I
pretended they were eggs and sat on them.
33. Where is your favorite place in the world? Where my bed is, and
where my peeps are. Strangely this changes a lot. But if I had to go
by location only, I’d have to say Europe. And if I must be more
specific, Positano, Italy. It was always a magical place for me as a
child, and even now I can’t think of a more nostalgic place. Thinking
about how it is probably overrun with tourism these days makes me want
to cry.
34. Is there anything going on this weekend? I wouldn’t give it up for anything.
41. What did you want to be when you grew up? Do you still want to? I
just knew I wanted to do something in entertainment, and even now I
still have a lot of other talents (voice acting, for one!) that I
really wish to keep exploring.
42. What are your best characteristics? I’m funny, friendly, and
sympathetic. And I can take charge in an emergency.
43. If you could go anywhere on vacation where would you go? Right
now, I’d love to go to Japan. I have never been, and it sounds
amazing. What is your best childhood memory? There are so many, from
vacations with my family to my highschool graduation. What are some of the different jobs that you have had in your
life? None I got paid for, but my most recent was volunteering at the
Belgian Comic Strip Center.
49. Any new and exciting things that you would like to share? I’m
about to graduate from college! Holy shit.
50. What Inspires You? Music, conversations with my friends, and
browsing interesting sites on the internet. One of your scars, describe how you got it. I have scar on my
forearm shaped like a tiny crescent moon. Currently, Saigon, a Thai restaurant here in
Savannah.
58. Do you snore, grind your teeth, or talk in your sleep? Nope.
59. What book are you reading? How is it? I’m not reading any at the
moment, unfortunately!
60. What do you get complimented about most? My artwork.
61. Have you ever been out of the country? Which country? XD
62. What's your drink of choice? Bubble tea! Preferably watermelon
flavor, but I’ll try them all.
63. What are your weaknesses? I can be a jealous prick, I’m vindictive,
I hold grudges for far too long, and I whittle away at what my future
might be to the point that I’m paralyzed with fear.
2. What are your strengths? I am fiercely loyal to friends and family,
and I draw fairly well.
3. What is the last thing you watched on TV? If you mean it was on a
tv, then probably the X-Files. No cable.
4. What are your dreams like? Strange and incredibly vivid. For some
reason the bulk of them involve alien beings.
5. Are you organized or cluttered? Bit of both. My private space is
cluttered, but I respect the need for cleanliness in common areas.
6. What is the last film you saw? Running with Scissors. Was watching
it this morning, actually.
7. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live? All
of my other worries about living abroad aside, Taiwan, Sweden,
Thailand, South Korea… the list goes on and on…
8. If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you do? Get
all of my family members out of debt, have my mother’s current house
razed to the ground and build her a new one. Find a bit of land
somewhere and build my own tiny house, and then go to school until I
became tired of learning awesome things.
9. Tell me something about you that most people don't know. I wasn’t
born male, and I can juggle.
10. If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt
or politics, what would you do? I really don’t know. I’m not cold
hearted enough to think eugenics is a good idea, but I can see that
the overall effect would be desirable.
11. Do you like to dance? Yes, and for a white guy, I’m not that bad.
12. Would you ever consider living abroad? I’ve already considered it,
and I plan to at some point in my life.
13. Type of music you like most? All kinds, usually strange.
14. Type of music you dislike most? Typical contemporary radio
fodder.
15. Have you ever ridden on a motorbike? Yes. Wish I could drive one
though.
16. Would you go bungee jumping or sky diving? Skydiving, yes. Bungee
jumping I’m much less enthusiastic about.
17. Do you have a garden? Not unless growing a sweet potato on the
window sill in our kitchen counts.
18. If you could eat lunch with one famous person, who would it be?
Define famous…? I think I would pick a contemporary professional in my
field… Marko Djurdjevic, Marta Dahlig, because I want to know if
they’re normal people, or pricks.
19. Which store would you choose to max out your credit card in? Does
it have to be brick and mortar? Newegg.com, if not.
20. What time is bed time? Whenever I happen to go to sleep. Yesterday
it was 11 pm, day before (also yesterday..) was 8 am.
21. Seen anything weird lately? Nothing that was weird enough for me
to recall at the moment.
22. Do you think that tattoos are attractive? How many do you have?
Yes, and I currently have two. When's the last time you ate a homegrown tomato? Few years ago.
25. Have you ever won a trophy? Probably. I think the last one was for
second place in the Fire Safety Poster Contest at my middle school.
26. Are you a good cook? What I make is usually edible.
27. Do you know how to pump your own gas? This seems like a fairly
necessary skill in this world… and yes, I do.
28. If you could talk with, fight, or fuck any one person (from
history or currently alive), who would it be? Why? Is it bad that I
really don’t care about historical figures or celebrities? I’d like to
have a conversation with Anne Sexton, mostly because I enjoy her
poems.
29. What's under your bed? My entire workspace. Desk, chair, computer,
etc.
30. Do you believe in love at first sight? Not at all. Lust on the
other hand, is fairly instantaneous.
31. Is there anything going on this weekend? Nothing besides homework
I should have been doing last weekend.
35. How are you feeling right now? Indifferent and particularly
uncreative.
36. What do you think about the most? The future and the horrible
things our government seems to be up to.
37. What time do you get up in the morning? Whenever I happen to wake
up. This is usually not any hour someone would call ‘morning’.
38. What do you do most when you are bored? Read a book or drown in
the Internet.
39. I have
really blue eyes, and despite everything, being short is actually kind
of a boon.
43. If you could go anywhere on vacation where would you go? I also bite my nails instead of using
nail clippers…
55. Favorite thing to hate? Politicians. Do you snore, grind your teeth, or talk in your sleep? I probably
talk in my sleep, but no one has made me aware of whether or not I
snore or grind my teeth. It wasn’t as deep to me, nor as good, as Pushing
Ice, by the same author. About to start Sex, Drugs, and Coco-puffs by
Klosterman.
60. What do you get complimented about most? I don’t really. I suppose
I would say artwork, but those are more critiques, which are
mandatory.
61. Have you ever been out of the country? Yes, but being on a cruise
liner does not count, in my opinion.
62. What's your drink of choice? Juice or tea. The weird movies that you'd likely see on
Sundance channel at midday.

5.Are you organized or cluttered? Somewhere between the two, I'm super
controlling over money and things of that sort. But I tend to be a bit
funky on keeping my room clean, because being gross bothers the
girlfriend.

6.What is the last film you saw? On the internets, Sita Sings The
Blues. Its available for free online. In theaters, it was watchmen. Why? This one is gonna be weird.
I think it'd be kind of fun to get into a tussle with Mark Twain. Or
nail Audrey Hepburn. She was so very alluring. As a note. I'll say
that I admire both people, but hey, you never really know someone
until you fight them, or you see them a little open and you know,
naked.
